For the next 10 days, we have insanely welcomed a third Ridgeback in to our house. Finn's breeder is taking a trip to Westminster, and showing Finn's half sister, Sachi. During that time, we have entered Finn in some shows in Lakeland. Ginny wanted to enter Esme. So... solution was we would take her from the 4th to the 14th.
Last night was a trying night. I am sure she is used to having many other dogs around, but there are only 2 here. 2 boys wondering what the heck had happened to their house. The crate at bedtime was an issue. She howled. Howled. I am a softy, so I brought her to bed with me. Matt got home at 2 am and there was no way all 5 of us could sleep in the bed. Back to the crate. She cried for 20 minutes, started to settle... and then the damn business phone rang. And the howling started over.
Now. For the 1st year of our pups lives, their crate was in the bedroom. So, at 2 am, we put her crate in the bedroom and she slept like a baby from that point on.
So. We welcome little Esme to the house. She is a delight. She might be a little homesick, but she has been adjusting to us and we have been adjusting to her,
